21. A Good Ball of Yarn

via yarncountry.com

There are some things that come easily.  And, there are some things just plain don’t.  Knitting, though rumored to be simple, fell into the latter category here at biehus.  Unfortunately, perseverance also falls into the latter category.  However – against all odds – and inspired by the soft, knubby balls of the Mission Falls yarn, the 1824 Cotton in fennel color finally yielded and allowed itself to be assembled into neat little rows!  A wise knitter recommended that even beginners – in fact, especially beginners – should invest in yarn that they love.  How true!  Seems like a good rule to keep in mind when selecting materials for children too.  For those interested in exploring the craft, biehus recommends the purl bee.
